Architecture
Yosemite FileKeeper Corporate consists of three major components:
1. FileKeeper Policy Server
2. FileKeeper Agents
3. One or more FileKeeper Data Vault
FileKeeper's Policy Server is a Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) web application. This provides a browser based central console to manage all FileKeeper policies and agents.
- Yosemite FileKeeper Policy Server's efficient operation means lower infrastructure cost to you. It typically does not require a dedicated server
- Enables definition of company-wide policies for file protection, versioning, data protection and retention
- Configuration and monitoring of all FileKeeper Agents deployed in your environment from a single location and login. FileKeeper Policies are delivered to FileKeeper Agents on Edge systems via
Microsoft .NET® Web service.

FileKeeper Agents
- Run locally on each protected system
- Can be installed, updated and configured remotely, from a FileKeeper Policy Server
- Back up files in real-time, as the files are being saved to disk, and in accordance with the data protection and retention policies defined on the FileKeeper Policy Server.
- Perform compression and save the changes between versions of a protected document in a reserved area of the user's local hard drive (called the FileKeeper Version Store).
- Replicate and optionally encrypt versions of the file to one or more admin-defined FileKeeper storage locations (known as Data Vaults) on locally-attached or network-based storage.
A FileKeeper Data Vault
- Can be any Windows or Linux-based storage device
- User data is stored in file system format so data protection solutions such as Yosemite Backup can protect FileKeeper data on tape or replicate to a central datacenter for disaster protection
