Yosemite Backup Master Server is the only data protection solution that runs natively on Windows, Netware or Linux, provides all options and agents from a single binary image, and enables agent and option additions through a simple license key. This means no more "rip and replace" upgrades and your data protection solution can expand quickly and easily as the environment grows. Yosemite Backup is scalable and flexible because it's built on Yosemite's proven modular architecture which consists of three primary components:
The Master Server, the base building block of the Yosemite Backup architecture, provides local backup, scheduling and centralized management of Media Servers and backup Client Servers. When combined, these components make up a Yosemite Backup Domain. The Master Server, the Media Server, and the Client Server can be combined on the same system for single-server protection or separated and installed on dedicated servers to provide a centrally-managed and scalable total data protection solution.
The Standard Master Server also includes high performance features usually found only in expensive, high-end data protection solutions, such as:
- NEW! Software or Hardware-based (including newly released LTO-4) media encryption ensures data security in the event backup media is lost or stolen.
- Improved scalability allows customers to easily manage up to 50 servers in a single backup domain.
- Self-Tuning Logic automatically analyzes data source configurations such as the number of drives
link the appropriate number of data streams with each source drive to ensure optimal and efficient throughput, and then automatically select available target archiving devices to ensure maximum backup performance.
- D2D2Ne allows customers to define a flexible backup hierarchy that can perform disk-based backup across heterogeneous environments and multiple tiers of storage, and support for high-end fiber channel-based storage devices and technologies.
- Unlimited backup to disk capacity for improved backup and restore performance
- Windows-based administrative console enables even novice administrators to take advantage of
all the advanced features because Yosemite Backup Standard comes with a number of task Wizards
to help with creating and managing backup jobs, media, devices, and even recoveries.
